I'm Nihal Sunthankar — Sunny. I started out as a software and mobile engineer, then spent close to six years as a Senior Cloud Architect at Amazon Web Services, leading large customer teams through complex transformations and contributing to engagements that generated over a billion dollars in downstream customer value. When those customers engaged through AWS, many asked for me specifically.
Over that decade, my work shifted steadily upstream — from writing code to designing the systems code sits inside. I developed a layered architecture methodology that starts with the business, works through information and application structure, and arrives at technology selection last. The conviction behind it has never changed: a technically sound design that ignores the business will fail. One grounded in the business will outlast the technology it runs on.
More recently I've taken the AI shift head-on — building a complete agentic delivery pipeline across close to twenty purpose-built agents, delivering production-grade software at a fraction of the usual effort. In early 2026, I founded Red Vector to work directly with the clients I'd built relationships with, and to bring that delivery model to organisations that want to move fast and build things that last.
